A COVID-19 care facility built from an existing National Guard barracks in just 22 days. A dramatic transformation of a public library in downtown Raleigh. The high-tech design and construction of a “flagship” cruise terminal in Miami. And a massive water supply project that greatly aids the thirsty city of Atlanta.
Of all of this year’s winning projects, those are the four nominated by this year’s Southeast Best Projects judges to be considered for the top honor of Project of the Year.
Listed here in alphabetical order, according to each project’s category, are this year's Southeast Project of the Year finalists.
- Best Airport/Transit — Norwegian Cruise Line, Miami
- Best Government/Public Building — Durham County Public Library, Raleigh
- Best Health Care — COVID-19 Alternate Care Facility, St. Croix Virgin Islands
- Best Water/Environmental — Atlanta Water Supply Program, Atlanta
As of Sept. 15, the judges—Keith Douglas, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co.; Tahir Edwards, The Weitz Co.; Jennifer Naizer, Pond; Cary Perkins, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture; Ray Riddle, Holder Construction; Bobby Teachey, Brownstone Construction Group; Leigh Thomas, WGI Inc.; and Ron Whalen, Roger B. Kennedy Construction—are still voting to determine the winner.

Of course, all of this year's Best Projects award winners will be honored at that time as well. For more information about attending the ENR Southeast Best Projects event, please check here.
