Judges Select ENR New England 2023 Best Projects
Best Projects winners will be featured in the October issue of ENR New England and honored at an awards event in in Boston.

ENR New England is excited to announce this year’s group of regional Best Project winners, with 19 projects awarded in fourteen main categories.
In addition to the 2023 main category winners found in the list below, the Best Projects safety and sustainability awardees, which are juried by a separate group of safety and sustainability experts, will be announced next month in the ENR New England free e-newsletter. Finalists for this year’s ENR New England Project of the Year will also be announced soon.

Judges’ selection for this year’s overall Project of the Year from the Best Project-level winners listed below will be announced in the November issue of ENR New England and at the ENR New England Best Projects awards event on Dec. 1. For more information about the Regional Best Projects event, please visit https://www.enr.com/enr-best-projects-awards/boston. This year’s winning projects in the main categories—listed at the bottom of this post—will also be profiled in depth in the November print issue of ENR New England. Projects were all located in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
Projects were evaluated on the ability of the project team to overcome challenges, safety, construction/design quality, and contribution to the industry and the community. Due to the large number of entries, we can only cite a fraction of projects submitted each year, so projects that did not win this year can be submitted next year if they are still eligible!
This year’s New England judges for the main categories were Scott Bascom, associate architect at Sasaki, a Boston-based design firm and Aidan Sullivan, project engineer at Engelberth Construction, Concord, N.H.
Judges could select any combination of Best Project-level and and Award of Merit category winners. In some categories, judges decided not to give an award in a category.
