Paul Lund was hired by Hord Coplan Macht, Baltimore, as a principal. He had been a principal at Bowie Gridley Architects, Washington, D.C. Lund has 22 years of design experience and will be a leader in the firm's higher education practice.

SmithGroupJJR recently promoted John Harriman and Don Posson to be vice presidents in its Washington, D.C., office. Harriman is director of engineering, leading a group of 30 engineers. Posson is co-leader of sustainable design. He joined the firm in 2013.

Grunley Construction Co., Rockville, Md., recently announced several promotions. Sonya Brown has been promoted to vice president of marketing and business development. She joined the firm in 2011. George Rusk has been promoted to vice president of purchasing. He joined Grunley in 2004. Kenneth Terry has been promoted to deputy operations manager. He joined the company in 2011. The firm also hired Andree Yaap as interiors executive. Yaap was previously a procurement manager at Turner Construction.

Tim Shea has been promoted to vice president of engineering for M.C. Dean's Engineering and Construction Group in Dulles, Va. Shea has 35 years of industry experience and previously served as senior vice president at Joseph R. Loring and Associates Inc. in Washington, D.C.

Craig Benson has joined Hatch Mott MacDonald as a senior project engineer for water and wastewater in its Arlington, Va., office. He has more than 25 years of industry experience.
