The Electrical and Utility Contractors Association installed its 2012 board last week at an event titled Membership L.I.V.E. in Pleasanton along with the assistance of state senator Roderick Wright (D-25).
Nearly 300 contractor and industry associated members attended EUCA’s annual installation dinner at the Palm Event Center. The new board represents the joining of EUCA and Sacramento-based Association of Engineering Construction Employers (AECE) into one association – United Contractors – that will make its official debut March 1.
Senator Wright installed the 2012 board of directors, which includes president Rob Layne, O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc.; Michael Ghilotti, Ghilotti Bros., Inc.; Kevin Albanese, Joseph J. Albanese, Inc.; Gary Andrews, Associated Constructors, Inc.; Jami Brady, BakerCorp; Jerry Condon, Condon-Johnson & Associates, Inc.; Bruce Daesking, McGuire and Hester; Jack Estill, Appian Engineering, Inc.; Brian Gates, Top Grade Construction, Inc.; Rich Gates, DeSilva Gates Construction; Brett Kincaid, O’Grady Paving, Inc.; Bret Lawrence, Woodruff-Sawyer & Co.; Robert Purdy, RGW Construction, Inc.; and Bob Rahebi, Redgwick Construction Company.
The evening also featured EUCA’s annual awards ceremony, honoring the association’s most dedicated members and advocates. This year’s awards included the Associate Distinguished Member Award, presented to Nikki Affinito of Union Bank; the Digger Award, presented to Christian Young of D.W. Young Construction Co., Inc.; and the We Dig CA Award, presented to Senator Wright.
