Charles Lynch has transferred to Gannett Fleming's San Bruno office as vice president of the transit and rail systems division. He was previously based in Jacksonville, Fla. Lynch will serve as project manager for work to support Caltrain's modernization program, including the Peninsula Corridor electrification project. Jeffrey Hurley has joined Gannett Fleming's San Bruno office and will serve as deputy project manager on the Caltrain project. He has more than 20 years of transit engineering and project management experience throughout California.
Michael Baker International added Howard Blackson to the San Diego office as senior urban designer and community planner. Blackson most recently served as program manager for the San Diego Civic Innovation Lab. Prior to that, he was principal and director of Planning at PlaceMakers LLC. Blackson holds a master's degree in urban design from the University of Westminster, London. He is a member of the U.S. General Services Administration Design Excellence Peer Review Committee, chairman of the Congress for the New Urbanism California Chapter and recent board member of Civic San Diego.

The Associated General Contractors of California hired Juan Garza as manager of industrial relations for Northern California. He has spent the last eight years as a labor compliance professional, working in the private sector. He also spent 16 years in the labor commissioner's office within California's Dept. of Industrial Relations as the deputy labor commissioner.

Most recently, she served as president, CEO and founder of McInfra. Previously, she worked as director of engineering for Samsung Engineering and Construction in the Americas. Vajdani is an active member of Women in Transportation, Construction Management Association of America and Design/Build Institute of America.
