Under his leadership, Fluor's infrastructure group grew to become one of the largest worldwide.

He has also served as the founding vice president of the National Passive House Alliance, Chicago, and is a certified consultant and tradesperson in the passive-house building energy standard. Shannon's accomplishments earned him a spot on ENR New York's Top 20 Under 40 list in 2013.
