Robert Alonso was promoted to the position of senior bridge engineer at Finley Engineering Group's Orlando office. He will be responsible for project management and staff supervision for complex bridge projects, with concentration on central and south Florida. He has more than six years of experience with design and project management.

 

HAMILTON
David W. Hamilton was promoted to the position of executive vice president at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Elkins Constructors. Hamilton has been with Elkins for 23 years and previously served as project executive and vice president for commercial projects. Hamilton will have responsibility for all operations and business development for the company's Georgia business, including management of its Atlanta and Savannah offices.

 

VISCARDI
Daniel Viscardi has joined the Atlanta office of Leo A Daly as vice president and corporate director of the designer's aviation programs. Viscardi has more than 30 years of aviation industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, he served as the chief operating officer of Thompson Co. Earlier, Viscardi served as executive vice president of Gresham, Smith and Partners for 10 years. He also worked as principal in charge of the international terminal project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Brian Flynn has joined Gannett Fleming's Orlando office as regional highway design manager to oversee planning and design initiatives for projects in central and north Florida. Flynn, who has more than 30 years of engineering and construction experience, will also provide business development, client management and quality assurance services.

 

MANN
Jeff Mann was named manager for special projects in Parsons Brinckerhoff's transit and rail division. Located in PB's Raleigh, N.C., office, he will be responsible for the planning, development and management of transit and rail projects. Prior to joining PB, Mann worked as an assistant vice president for policy and development with Amtrak's south region. He previously served as property and public affairs manager for the North Carolina Railroad Co.

Construction management firm Moss & Associates, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., recently promoted four vice presidents to the position of senior vice president, including Brett Atkinson. Atkinson's experience includes hospitality and entertainment-related projects.

Scott Desharnais was also promoted to senior vice president at Moss & Associates. A 25-year industry veteran with a focus on fast-tracked projects, he worked on the University of Miami's Biomedical Research Building project. Mike Mazza was also promoted. With 18 years of experience, Mazza heads up the firm's Orlando office and directs its national criminal justice division. Andrew McAllister, also with 18 years of industry experience, will focus on hospitality and marina sectors for the U.S. and the Bahamas.

Alfred Roth has rejoined Greenhorne & O'Mara in West Palm Beach, Fla., as vice president. Previously with the firm for 21 years, Roth will support the clients of the firm's seven Florida offices.

Paul Anderson has joined design firm Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, where he will direct the Atlanta-based architecture and engineering operations and lead the firm's federal services team. Anderson has more than 35 years of industry experience and most recently managed the military projects group at Rosser International in Atlanta.

Stephen Boylan has joined GAI Consultants in Orlando as director of transportation engineering. With more than 18 years of experience, he will be responsible for expanding the firm's transportation business across the Southeast.

Jerry Warner has been appointed vice president of construction for AutoBuilders General Contracting Services in West Palm Beach, Fla. Warner has 35 years of industry experience and will oversee the contractor's operations and construction projects nationwide. The company also has a West Coast operation, which is based in California.

Rhett Partin joined the West Point, Ga., office of Batson-Cook Co. as vice president of business development. Partin joins the contractor after working for six years as the vice president and executive director of the Center for Rural Health of the Georgia Hospital Association, where he advised the leaders of 120 rural hospitals and skilled-nursing facilities on regulation, finances and operations.

 

YOUNG
Denise Young has joined the Tampa office of Hardin Construction Co. as director of business development. Young has 15 years of experience in the architecture-engineering-construction industry and has served as vice president of the Tampa chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers.

Steve Edwards will lead Marek Interior Systems' newly launched Atlanta division for window treatments. Marek's new Atlanta office will service commercial and institutional projects throughout the Southeast.

Jeff Dreger will serve as senior manager for product and marketing support with SANY America's corporate headquarters in Peachtree City, Ga. A veteran crane engineer who previously spent 35 years with Manitowoc Cranes, Dreger will provide marketing and technical support for SANY's reach stackers, crawler cranes and rough-terrain cranes.

 
PILIA
Carlo Pilia
has joined Cardno TBE's central Florida office in Altamonte Springs as branch manager. Prior to joining Cardno TBE, Pilia served as director and partner of TST Engineering Ltd.'s branch in Dublin, Ireland. He will be responsible for Cardno's subsurface utility engineering, utility coordination and survey and mapping services in central Florida.

Wendy Pontefract has joined the Greenville, S.C., office of design and construction firm O'Neal as safety director. Pontefract has more than 15 years of construction and safety management experience and has served in related roles with Duke Energy and Fluor Corp.

Also in Greenville, O'Neal has hired Steve Tilley as a senior estimator. Tilley has more than 25 years of mechanical contracting and estimating experience and most recently worked for Fluor Corp. Additionally, Ray Mann has joined the firm's Greenville office as a project manager. In Raleigh, N.C., Darrell Dean has joined O'Neal as a design project manager. He previously worked for 30 years at Fiberweb.

Cathi DiBenedetti has joined Stevens Construction in Fort Myers, Fla., as a project administrator. DiBenedetti has 26 years of construction industry experience. Also in Fort Myers, Don Jones has joined the construction company as a superintendent. Jones has 35 years of construction experience, including most recently with a global firm doing civil projects.

 
HERGENREDER
Donald Hergenreder
has joined Suffolk Construction Co. in West Palm Beach, Fla., as a project director for the Southeast region. A 35-year industry veteran, he will be overseeing the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science project in Miami.

Bill Pearson has joined contractor Charles Perry Partners Inc., Gainesville, Fla., as a senior project manager. A 17-year industry veteran, he most recently served as a project manager with Trinity Fabricators. Prior to that, Pearson had worked as a vice president with M.M. Parrish Construction Co.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based design and construction firm Stellar recently hired Jay Frisco as a senior design project manager for its commercial division. Stellar also named Anthony Jarabek as a senior project engineer in its food and beverage facility services division.

Stellar also announced several other appointments in its food and beverage facilities division. Michael Murdaugh was promoted to senior process engineer, and Johnnie Paulus was hired as a senior process designer. Freida Speicher, formerly with Smith-McCray Architects, was hired as an architect.

Joel Kaplan has been hired as a project manager with SIKON Construction Co., Deerfield Beach, Fla. Kaplan has nine years of commercial construction experience, including project engineering and assistant project management experience, with a focus on retail projects.

Matthew Christensen has been promoted from corporate controller to vice president of finance for specialty contractor Precision Walls in Cary, N.C. Christensen, with 20 years of experience in construction, accounting and finance, will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and information technology. He previously worked with KPMG, Centex Homes and KB Homes.
