HALL
R. Randall Hall has been promoted from president to chief executive officer for West Point, Ga.-based general contractor Batson-Cook Co. Hall takes over the CEO position from Raymond L. Moody Jr., who is retiring. The general contractor previously named Hall as president in January 2012. Prior to that, he had served as senior vice president and general manager for the company's Atlanta division.

Moody, who will now serve as an executive adviser, first started with Batson-Cook in 1963 as an engineer. He was elected executive vice president in 1985 and 10 years later was named president and chief operating officer. Moody was then named president and CEO in 2010.

Douglas Eckmann has joined TKW Consulting Engineers in Fort Myers, Fla., as chief operating officer and engineering manager. Eckmann has been managing engineering projects in southwest Florida for 20 years.

 

SMITH
Alexander Smith Jr. was hired as vice president of operations for Plaza Construction, Miami. Smith has 17 years of Florida construction experience. The company also hired Louis Darder, with 23 years of industry experience, as a senior project manager. Plaza also brought on Christian de Gale as a project manager and Thomas Lamp as a project superintendent.

J. Tyler Hewitt has joined HDR in Atlanta as the water and natural resources group's Georgia manager. Hewitt has 15 years of experience with municipal water and wastewater projects. Previously, he worked as a vice president with Infratec Consultants.

 

WESSIN
David Wessin has been named vice president of safety and loss control for Miami-based Coastal Construction Group. Wessin, who most recently served as the contractor's director of safety, has 30 years of construction industry experience and has focused on safety for 25 years.

Lauren Dunn Rockart has been promoted to the position of principal for architectural firm Lord, Aeck & Sargent's office in Chapel Hill, N.C. An architect with 19 years of design experience, Rockart specializes in higher education projects.

In addition, architect Mark Lange has joined Lord, Aeck & Sargent's Atlanta office as a principal. Lange, with more than 25 years of architectural industry experience, will focus on housing and mixed-use projects.

Amos (Zhugang) Liu was promoted to vice president for STV's transportation and infrastructure division in Charlotte, N.C. A project manager and senior engineer, Liu manages the firm's structures group. Liu, who came to STV in 2000, is currently managing the design of the extension project for Charlotte's light rail system.

Tom Ennis has joined KBR Building Group's Orlando office as senior vice president and general manager. He has 27 years of commercial construction experience.

Matt Steinmetz has joined the Atlanta office of Skanska USA as a vice president for health care projects. Steinmetz has 25 years of industry experience. He previously worked for KBR Building Group and Turner Construction Co.

Andres "Andy" Nunez has joined Atkins' national intelligent transportation systems (ITS) business practice in Tampa as a senior traffic engineering and ITS manager and will focus on projects in the Southeast. Nunez previously co-founded TEI Engineers & Planners. He also had served as director of traffic engineering and ITS with Tindale-Oliver & Associates, Tampa.

Rodrigo Pigna has been named a senior engineering manager in the Miami office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. In his new position, Pigna will lead PB's water practice for the South Florida region. Pigna, who has 25 years of industry experience, previously served as director of engineering for a Miami firm, focusing on water and sewer projects.

Jay Gulledge has joined McKim & Creed in Raleigh, N.C., as information technology director. He has 12 years of experience managing information technology and computer processes for design firms.

In Sarasota, Fla., Robert Garland joined the firm as Southeast regional manager. He will focus on water, wastewater, stormwater and reclaimed water projects.
