Lend Lease's management of HCA's medical center project—comprising a five-story, 389,000-sq-ft hospital and four-story, 90,000-sq-ft medical office building—was noted for its safety program and record, which included no recordable incidents from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The Medical Center at Trinity project in New Port Richey, Fla., was recognized with an Award of Merit in the safety category.

The project's safety program included a supervisory skills workshop, weekly sitewide safety talks dealing with upcoming work activities and monthly safety lead team meetings.

In all, the project team trained 387 workers in Lend Lease's fire safety program, certified 48 workers in OSHA's 30-hour training program and trained and certified 125 workers in first aid and CPR/AED.
