McCarthy Building Cos. has promoted Jeff Wood to vice president of operations at its Las Vegas office. Wood will manage multiple responsibilities in his new role, including overseeing company-wide initiatives, employee development, project management, estimating, marketing, business development and client relations. He is an active member of the Nevada Professional Facilities Manager Association and was named one of Vegas Inc.'s Top 40 Under 40 in 2014.
Faithful+Gould has added Knute Ruggaard to its Phoenix office as program director in support of its aviation sector. Ruggaard previously served as a member of the executive project management team for the $1-billion International Terminal redevelopment program at George Bush International Airport in Houston. He also has managed rail projects in both the U.K. and Hong Kong.
The Bureau of Reclamation has named Jennifer Faler as area manager for the Albuquerque office. Faler has 20 years of experience working in government and the private sector in the areas of water resource and environmental issues. Faler, who previously served as deputy area manager for the Albuquerque office, holds a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California, Davis. She also worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an environmental engineer and project manager.
Stephanie Teller recently was promoted to director of marketing with general contractor Sundt Construction, Phoenix. She has been with the firm since 2011 and previously worked as a marketing communications strategist and marketing writer. Teller has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and communications.
Designer Michelle Romero, architects John Tran and Scott Kreitlein and engineer Fletcher Clarcq have been promoted to principals with the Phoenix offices of SmithGroupJJR. Romero has more than 14 years of experience as an interior designer. Tran, who has been with the firm since 2014 as a design principal, also provides support to firm offices throughout the U.S. Kreitlein has more than 20 years of architecture experience and has worked on several notable projects throughout the U.S. Clarcq has more than 17 years of experience as a mechanical engineer with expertise in health care and higher education facilities as well as recreation centers and laboratories.
Ryan Cos., Phoenix, has promoted Mark Beal to division manager for the Southwest. Beal will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the region's project managers and project engineers through all phases of construction, including estimating, design management, scheduling and interfacing with municipalities.
Designer Stantec's Salt Lake City office has added Scott Bolton as community development manager. Among other tasks, Bolton will be responsible for business development, strategic planning and project management for several firm offices in the Southwest. He has more than 22 years of experience in industry leadership, with hands-on knowledge of planning, design and construction management. Boltonwas previously a project manager for a globally integrated architecture, planning, engineering and technology firm.
