Working from May 2011 to March 2012, Landis Construction Co. completed the first major restoration to the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans since 1984.
The $11.2-million project included renovation of all 316 guest rooms and suites, public spaces and meeting rooms, plus the addition of a new bar, pool and full-service spa.
Because the hotel had to remain in service during the renovation, the Landis team used a phased approach, working on one floor a week from top to bottom, turning over a finished floor every six weeks. Renovations to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing in each of the rooms also required scheduled shutdowns of the hotel's risers, which were tied in with room rentals.
