WASHINGTON, DC-In September, Clark Construction of Bethesda won a $229.3-million contract to build the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense Replacement Facility at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Harford County, Md. The 526,255 sq-ft facility is expected to complete in summer 2013. Clark’s scope of work includes core and shell construction, as well as the complete fit-out of interior laboratory and support spaces. The building will include chemistry laboratories built to meet Biological Safety Level 2 standards, as well as command headquarters, offices, and training facilities. In addition, Clark will manage the installation of medical gas and conventional utilities, electrical services, and sitework.
