SCHULTZ
Lisa M. Schultz has joined ConopCo Project Management of Chicago as business development manager. With a pronounced understanding of services and industry, Schultz supports ConopCo by increasing market share, providing research and analysis, identifying new business development opportunities, increasing industry awareness of the role that project management plays on a project, building and maintaining professional relationships, and launching marketing campaigns.
Wight & Company, a Darien, Ill., architecture, engineering and construction solutions form, has strengthened its integrated design capabilities with the expansion of its engineering group to include structural building engineering. The company also announced that Matthew J. Aquino will be the director of its structural engineering practice, which is housed within the firm’s Darien, Ill., headquarters.
Aquino will lead the growth of the new department, which enables Wight & Co. to further broaden its portfolio of client-focused integrated services for public and private projects throughout Illinois and the Midwest. He will also actively participate in the company’s established transportation practice.
GLASER
David Birk, executive vice president of Holland Construction Services of St. Louis, recently announced that Ron Glaser has joined its team as director of preconstruction. Glaser will proactively coordinate the preconstruction process to provide accurate cost, constructability and scheduling information to clients and the HCS Team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology/ construction from Missouri State University.
Kipkoech K. Chepkoit recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc., working from the firm’s St. Louis and Springfield offices. Chepkoit specializes in managing projects that require geotechnical exploration and engineering, including preparing geotechnical reports and calculating, analyzing and designing soil-structure interaction.
He will work on a variety of navigation, flood control and recreation projects, primarily for federal agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and for a Hanson group of geotechnical and geo-structural engineers focused on serving the U.S. Department of Defense.
CHEPKOIT
His previous experience includes geotechnical consulting work for the numerous U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ districts.
Chepkoit has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He also has a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in civil engineering, both from the University of Maryland.
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc. of St. Louis recently announced the appointment of Ty Besalke as CMT’s Springfield Water Group manager. Besalke has been with CMT since 1991. In his new role, Besalke will coordinate project assignments, provide staff mentoring and carry out the administrative duties of the group. Besalke has 23 years of experience and is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology in 1987. He is a licensed professional engineer and is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.
Ken Payne has joined Clark Dietz of Chicago’s MEP group as a senior mechanical engineer. Payne brings 30 years of experience in mechanical systems design and project management and specializes in corporate, industrial and health care facilities.
Clark Dietz has also appointed the following board members for 2010: Ken Nelson (chairman and CEO), John Boldt (president and COO), Dale Tekippe (executive vice president), Tim Falkowski (treasurer), Hans Peterson (secretary), Charles Craddock, Chester Kochan, Jerry Payonk, Al Staron, James Loew and Nancy Hiner.
