HITT Contracting Inc., Falls Church, Va., one of the largest U.S. general contractors, kicked off its 75th anniversary year in 2012 by opening a new office in Golden, Colo.
Building upon its existing base of clients in the West, the company’s Colorado office will provide construction services for corporate interiors, mission critical, law firms, hospitality, health-care, federal and commercial mixed-use projects. Golden is the sixth U.S. office opened by HITT Contracting, which earned revenues of more than $920 million last year.
“Establishing a permanent presence in the Midwest and western U.S. regions are key strategic components to our growth,” said co-president Brett Hitt. “We’re bullish on the markets in those areas and see more opportunities down the road.”
Kevin Ott, a 25-year industry veteran, was recently retained as director for the new Golden office. During the past two decades, he led construction teams that completed more than seven million sq ft of work, including some of Colorado’s most notable projects—the Denver Four Seasons Hotel and the Sun Microsystems (Oracle) Broomfield campus. Ott is a graduate of the University of Colorado and grew up in Littleton.
During the past decade, HITT Contracting has built several projects in Colorado for national clients, including Nextel, National Federal Credit Union, SAIC, General Dynamics, GSA, Banana Republic as well as projects for the National Forest Service and the U.S. Corps of Engineers at Fort Carson. The company is also nearing completion of a 120,000-sq-ft data center for a federal agency in the Denver region.
