Interstate 15 Widening 500 North to Interstate 215 Submitted by Kiewit/Clyde JV
This design-build project included the design, reconstruction and widening of the mainline Interstate 15 to add an express lane and three general-purpose lanes in each direction.

Structural work included replacement of bridges at Beck Street’s I-15 overpass and southbound U.S. 89 overpass and demolition of two bridges to be replaced by a new bridge at 1100 North. Additional project components included earthwork, retaining walls, storm drainage, signing, lighting, barriers, ATMS infrastructure and utilities.

The project elevated industry standards by implementing partnering during the design process, with many contractors, consultants, designers, subcontractors and owner representatives involved. In most cases, interactions between each individual were new, even though the companies have had previous project experience together.
