Brigham Young University Center Production Kitchen RenovationSubmitted by Okland Construction Co. Inc.
The Brigham Young University Center Production Kitchen project remodeled and added to the existing Dairy Products Laboratory on Brigham Young University’s Provo campus. It became the new central production kitchen, providing food service to the entire campus as well as the Missionary Training Center and other clients.

The work included demolition of portions of the existing building, construction of a new masonry structure, reroof, interior remodel of all existing spaces and finishes, new exterior masonry veneer, a new storefront glazing system, new fire sprinkler systems and full mechanical and electrical upgrades.

The remodeled facility houses a vegetable processing room; a bakery; garde manger; new equipment for the kitchen, state-of-the-art cook-chill, dairy production and ammonia refrigeration; and an ice cream-production plant. The facility provides students with more nutritious food products.
