Turner Construction recently completed a $20-million renovation of the meeting spaces and guestrooms at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. This is the first extensive renovation at the resort since the property came under new ownership and was partially refurbished in 1996.

Turner's renovation of the resort included meeting spaces, like the board room, five suites and 316 guestrooms.

The renovation encompassed numerous meeting spaces, 316 guestrooms and five suites. Taking great consideration for the guests, managers and property staff, Turner completed construction for the duration of the project while the resort continued to operate fully with little or no interruption to daily activities.  “The renovation was an extremely fast-paced project that required dedicated and experienced teams in order to make it a success,” said Matt Kunz, senior project manager with Turner Construction. “Our goal was to ensure the guests enjoyed their stay and were not affected by the alterations.”

Ricca Newmark Design, a leading Denver interior design firm, was contracted to bring new life to the interior spaces of the resort. Inspired by the vivid Colorado landscape that surrounds Cheyenne Mountain Resort, the guestroom and meeting space renovation is a fusion of warmth, texture, luxury and richness of color drawn from the natural surroundings. The guestrooms were designed to carry the breathtaking views from the outside in, creating an experience for guests to be fully immersed in the Cheyenne Mountain experience. Unique custom furniture designed with the influences of European elegance and Colorado lodge comfort was fabricated with hand-finished precision, creating refined and luxurious rooms with an eclectic, high-end residential feeling.

Throughout the meeting rooms, organic custom carpet patterns were designed providing each room its own distinctive characteristics and allowing versatility for banquets, training sessions and formal events. High-end custom light fixtures and furnishings, along with top-of-the-line technologies finish off the meeting spaces, taking them beyond AAA Four Diamond standards.
