Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Co., Salt Lake City, a subsidiary of Sterling Construction Co. Inc., is the apparent low bidder on a $26.5-million bridge project for the Montana Dept. of Transportation.
The project is located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Glacier County, Mont., approximately 10 miles east of the Continental Divide in Glacier National Park. Construction is expected to begin this fall and be complete by October 2012. The project scope replaces the existing bridge over Two Medicine River on U.S. 2 with a six-span, 1,520-ft, cast-in-place concrete segmental bridge on a new alignment with approximately one mile of new roadway.
The project also includes two 12-ft lanes with 8-ft shoulders and a shared used path for bicycles and pedestrians. Federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery funds are being used by the state of Montana to fund the project.
Salt Lake City-based Cameron Construction was recently awarded two new projects for Maverik Country Stores.
Both projects are new retail stores and fuel stations in Idaho. The first store is located in Ammon, Idaho, next to Idaho Falls. The second store is in Fruitland, Idaho, close to the Oregon border.
Both facilities will include a retail convenience store with fueling stations and outside picnic areas.
Cameron Construction has built three stores in the past two years for Maverik, all in Utah. These are the first stations Cameron Construction has built in Idaho.
