The joint venture of GAC Contractors of Panama City, Fla., and H. J. High Construction Co., Orlando, was selected as the construction manager for the 104,000-sq-ft, four-story Advanced Technology Center for Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, now under construction.
The building contains a culinary arts and food lab, music technology lab, digital media lab, renewable energy lab and sustainable building labs. The project is designed to meet LEED Gold standards, and features interior and exterior metal composite panels, vertical axis wind turbines, and photovoltaic and solar panels mounted on the roof, geothermal cooling, grey water sanitary system, vegetative roof and rainwater capture and reuse.
