Houston-based Satterfield & Pontikes Construction has won renovation contracts from Dallas Independent School District and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School, a new DISD campus as well as a Naval Air Station contract in Pensacola.
The $36.4-million contract for Cy-Fair ISD is for additions and renovations at several of the district’s campuses. Work began in spring and completion is aimed for August 2011. The project will include new construction, upgrades and renovations to three schools and a support center. Dallas-based PBK Architects is the designer. S&P has performed renovations, upgrades, and new campus construction at 17 Cy-Fair ISD campuses.
S&P will renovate the Kennedy Curry Middle School under Dallas ISD’s 2008 bond program. Work began in May on the $18-million project. Construction also started on DISD’s new $21.5-million, 110,000-sq-ft Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy, designed by Dallas-based SHW Group, with a summer 2011 completion scheduled.
The Department of the Navy awarded a $22.5-million contract to S&P for the design and construction of an officer housing complex at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla. The project will be designed and built to LEED-silver standards and completed by June 2012. S&P will lead the design-build team and oversee construction management. Tulsa-based KSQ Architects supports Dallas-based Huitt-Zollars for the project design.
