Structure Tone, New York, named Ronald H. Bowman Jr. executive vice president of Structure Tone Mission Critical, a division of the company that provides expertise in the development, implementation and management of critical systems and facilities to clients. Bowman will have global responsibility for the division, which is supported by the firm’s technology management group, ST Tech Services. Prior to joining Structure Tone, Bowman was executive vice president for Tishman Technologies.

Modern Spaces, Long Island City, N.Y., hired Craig Axelrod as executive vice president of project marketing for the firm’s new Modern Spaces Marketing Group. He has more than 15 years of real estate development experience and is currently developing a 48-unit condominium at 44-15 Purves St. and a 120-unit rental building in Queens Plaza.

Savills, New York, hired Brad Lyons and Steven Vazquez as vice presidents. Lyons will be involved in arranging debt financing, including acquisition and construction financing for new and existing clients as well as helping to structure mezzanine and equity tranches. Vazquez, who will serve as vice president in the firm’s hotel practice, will focus on hotel investment sales, financing and note sales throughout North America.

Stalco Construction, Islandia, N.Y., promoted Malcolm A. Wade to assistant director of marketing and sales. Wade’s responsibilities include developing relationships with commercial, institutional, retail, religious and industrial clients throughout New York City and Long Island. Wade joined Stalco in 2009. His construction and real estate experience includes various commercial and public projects, including CA Inc.’s headquarters, Three Village School District and the Bank of Smithtown.

Forest City Ratner Cos. announced that Joanne Minieri will be stepping down as president of the New York subsidiary of Forest City Enterprises in order to open her own consulting firm. Minieri joined the company in 1995 as chief financial officer and has been involved in overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations and risk management. Minieri helped with the development of many projects, including the Atlantic Yards project, which is currently under way. She will continue to serve as a consultant on major projects for FCRC.

IPD: Engineering, Syracuse, N.Y., has hired Sharon Dearstyne as a mechanical designer. Dearstyne has nearly 13 years of experience in mechanical engineering. In addition, Mark Michnick joined the firm as a mechanical designer.

Obituary

Harvey E. Zaretzky , founder of Ronsco Construction, New York, died at his home on May 9 at the age of 79. After serving in the military, Zaretzky and his father, Hyman Zaretzky, started Ronsco Construction, which became a drywall, acoustical and carpentry contracting firm. Zaretzky was involved in major Manhattan projects such as the World Trade Center Hotel, the Palace Hotel and the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. He was the first president of the Metropolitan Drywall Contractors Association in 1965, which later became the Association of Wall-Ceiling and Carpentry Industries.
