Arup, Boston, has hired Brian Swett as director of cities and sustainable real estate in the Americas. Swett leads the firm’s efforts to deepen its engagements with mayors, city governments, developers, infrastructure owners and other key urban stakeholders. Previously, he was a development project manager and sustainability lead with Boston Properties.
VHB, Watertown, Mass., has hired Jason Ross as corporate-wide director of noise and vibration services. Ross brings 17 years of experience in project oversight, preparing all levels of NEPA noise and vibration studies, advanced engineering and final design of noise and vibration mitigation and public outreach.
Stantec has hired Jeffrey Simon as a senior principal in its Boston office. He has more than 40 years of real estate development experience, with an emphasis on project development. Within the firm’s project delivery group, Simon focuses on transit-oriented development, urban design and working with governmental clients. Prior to joining Stantec, he served as assistant secretary of transportation for real estate for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Patricia Pinto, vice president and board member for Sanborn, Head & Associates, Westford, Mass., has joined the Environmental Business Council New England’s board of directors. Pinto leads the firm’s developer client service area. She has 17 years of experience in hydrogeologic and environmental investigations, remedial system design and implementation, and environmental due diligence. Her responsibilities on the EBC board of directors include establishing governing policies, reviewing the annual budget and supporting EBC committees and state chapters.
