The new customer service center for Jet.com was designed with millennial employees in mind. It has relaxation rooms on all three floors as well as kitchens, game rooms and break rooms with micro-markets where people can buy healthy food. The open-concept office includes high-tech conference rooms, murals, ample daylight and spectacular views of the Wasatch Valley.
The project’s most significant challenge was concurrent delivery of the core and shell and tenant improvements. Teams worked closely to manage two distinct timelines that needed to finish together. A crane hoisted equipment and materials inside the building so that interior-finish crews could get to work. Even before windows were installed, the building was weatherproofed and heated during the winter so work could stay on schedule. In the contractor’s words, “There was every excuse to delay the project.” That said, it finished two months ahead of schedule.
