Eleven Madison Park, listed by the restaurant guide World’s 50 Best as among the top eateries globally, received a 9,500-sq-ft renovation to its dining room and kitchen. It happened in just 56 days thanks to intensive preconstruction and procurement processes.

The restaurant is in an occupied building and sits directly above a data center, so workers had to make sure the space had proper protection. Certain parts of the project were also sequenced during off-hours.

The final product was inspired by the neighboring Madison Square Park, reflecting the texture and pattern of foliage. Use of wood throughout gives a sense of the building’s Art Deco history.

The new open-flowing kitchen allows for a more efficient use of cooking space and enables all staff to see everything from any station.

Other upgrades include large stained-glass windows above the entrance, various art installations, built-in storage rooms and a state-of-the-art dry-aging area for duck meat.

One judge said: “Maintaining the design integrity of the space while re-adapting it for the restaurant was very well done.”
