SoJo Station in South Jordan was designed with the benefits of transit-oriented development in mind. The project includes core-and-shell construction of a Class A, six-story office building and a three-level parking structure with 2,200 stalls. Amenities include a fitness facility, showers, bicycle lockers and an onsite cafe. The building is near a UTA commuter-rail stop, a bus station and an Embassy Suites hotel.
Jacobsen Construction embraced a proactive, tailored approach to job safety in all phases. That included securing a parking lot near the site for specialty contractors. Crews did not need to cross busy roadways to get from the parking lot to the jobsite. The site-specific safety plan involved onsite orientation and training with clear expectations set for all subcontractors. They understood that safety of personnel and the public were the number-one priority. SoJo Station was completed with no OSHA recordables.
