Ed Maierhofer has rejoined Swinerton as a senior estimator. He is a licensed civil engineer in Colorado and California and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Dru Whitlock has joined Stantec as the global practice leader for biosolids and energy recovery, based in the firm’s Salt Lake City office. He will focus on growing the biosolid and energy-recovery practice in the southwestern U.S. and globally. Whitlock is a recognized leader in anaerobic digestion and biogas utilization.
Big-D Construction has promoted Beckie Austin to marketing director. Austin has been with the firm since November 2008, when she joined the firm as a marketing coordinator. She was later promoted to senior proposal manager.
RMH Group President Bill Green was recently named one of only 20 industry leaders to be included in the 2018 inaugural class of Fellows at the Design-Build Institute of America. Fellow status is the highest level of DBIA certification. Green served as founding president of DBIA’s Rocky Mountain region in 2002 and currently serves on the DBIA Rocky Mountain Region board.
The newly elected trustees at employee-owned design firm CSHQA are Kent Hanway, John Maulin and Dale Stevens. CSHQA officers are Martin Hahle, president; Jim Otradosky, chair of the board; John Maulin, executive vice president; and Michele Otazua, corporate secretary. CSHQA’s board of directors includes both past and new directors: Jim Otradosky, Mark Gier, Amy Dockter, Craig Slocum, Steve Wakeman, Jim Marsh, Ted Isbell, Danielle Weaver and Nicole Cecil.
Deron Brown has assumed the role of president and chief operating officer for U.S. operations at PCL Construction. Brown takes over responsibility for PCL’s U.S. buildings and civil operations from Shaun Yancey, who will retire in February. PCL also named Cathy Orquiola as vice president and district manager of the company’s California buildings division, where she will oversee all operations throughout California, including Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County.
PCL Construction Services Inc. has appointed Ryan Schmidt to district manager. Schmidt will oversee PCL’s buildings presence in the Denver area. He has been the operations manager for PCL Denver since early 2017.
The American Council of Engineering Cos. of Colorado recently honored city of Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet with its General Palmer Award. Millet has been a strong advocate for regional planning and statewide transportation system improvements. Prior to her current role, Millet was a planning commissioner for the city of Lone Tree.
Dewberry has hired Sean O’Connell in its Denver office as the department manager of the water and wastewater facilities group. O’Connell served as a project manager, client service manager and department manager working on water and wastewater projects throughout the Western U.S.
DLR Group recently added three professionals to its Denver office: Betsy Kunz, LEED green associate, interiors; Brent Spangler, electrical engineer; and Connor Wilkinson, mechanical engineer. The firm also has elevated two professionals to senior associate: Stephanie Gearhart, interiors, and Dave Swanson, project management.
