The Fordham Real Estate Institute, a continuing education program at Fordham University, New York City, which offers graduate certifications in construction management and real estate development, presented CEO + 1—a Nov. 29 panel event reception that focused on the importance of mentorship and women’s roles in real estate.
MaryAnne Gilmartin (pictured center), co-founder and CEO of L&L Mag and a special adviser to the institute’s Executive Advisory Council, hosted the event. She stressed the importance of meritocracy in running her own businesses. Other notable participants were (pictured from left) Hugh Kelly, president of Hugh F. Kelly Real Estate Economics and a member of the council, and First American Title vice president Peter Drumheller; and (pictured from right) Robert Morgenstern, institute director, and Anthony R. Davidson, dean of Fordham’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies. “MaryAnne … brought together a truly remarkable room of women and men who are making a difference in the field,” Davidson said.
