Rich HazelBig-D Construction has promoted Rich Hazel to senior vice president and managing director of the firm’s Salt Lake City office. Hazel is a 30-year veteran of the construction industry who has led some of Big-D’s most important local projects.

 

 

Blake Van RoosendaalBig-D also promoted corporate controller Blake Van Roosendaal to chief financial officer.  Former CFO Larry Worrell retired after 16 years with the firm. Jake Bartholomew has joined Big-D as the new corporate controller.
 

 

 

Michael (Mike) J. ChoutkaHensel Phelps Construction has appointed Michael (Mike) J. Choutka as president and CEO. Choutka, who began his career with the company, most recently served as president and chief operating officer. He takes over the role from former CEO Jeff Wenaas, who recently retired.
 

 

Pauletta TonilasDenver’s Regional Transportation District has selected Pauletta Tonilas as the agency’s next assistant general manager of communications. Tonilas is a transportation industry veteran with more than 30 years of communications expertise. She was chief communications officer at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where she worked for three and a half years.

 

Laura KingfisherLaura Kingfisher has joined Swinerton as a senior estimator in the firm’s special projects group. She comes to Swinerton with more than 20 years of experience, having worked exclusively in estimating and preconstruction services in Colorado.

 


GE Johnson Construction Co. has elected four new members to its board of directors. They are: Mike Fordyce, Ryan Heeter, Kasia King and Nick Siakotos. They join continuing board members Jim Johnson, Mark Pendleton, Larry Schmueser, George Solich, Peter Speiser and Rick Stone.

 

Arpit TalatiArpit Talati has been named regional business manager for the Texas-Mountain region of WSP USA. He will manage the firm’s transportation business operations in the region, which includes Texas, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

 


Catamount Constructors has hired five new staff members in the Denver office. Randall “Rand” Williams joined the firm as a project manager. Cara Carline was hired as a senior estimator, Jeff Marek as an estimator, Lindsay McGuire as a business development sales representative, Jess Brovsky as a marketing and proposal coordinator and Rebecca Alfonso was promoted from project coordinator to enterprise applications coordinator.

 

Scott PetrovitsScott Petrovits recently joined D.L. Adams Associates as a senior acoustical consultant. He has worked as a consultant since 2000, after graduating from the University of Hartford with a bachelor’s degree in acoustics.
