In February, contractors topped out Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel’s first built work in Florida, the luxury Monad Terrace condominium. Located on Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach, Monad Terrace features 59 residential units spread across two towers, which stand 90 ft and 149 ft tall. The French architect’s firm, Ateliers Jean Nouvel, envisioned the project as a “reflective machine” that uses “daylight, water, glass and steel to achieve glittering reflections that act as an extension of the ocean,” according to the project team. Leading the construction is New York-based JDS Development, which secured $62.5 million in financing for the project. Kobi Karp Architecture is also a member of the project team. The project is targeting completion later in the year.

Robins & Morton and Southeast Georgia Health System celebrated the Feb. 21 groundbreaking of the health care systems Brunswick Campus master renovation and expansion project. Contractors will also deliver 16 new operating rooms, a new main entry and new private post anesthesia care unit spaces. In all, the project will include more than 74,000 sq ft of new construction and more than 141,000 sq ft of renovation.
