Arlo Stockham
Community Development Director
City of Reno
“A lot is popping” in Reno, thanks to a strong local economy, Stockham says. Because available land is at a premium, “we are seeing a lot of higher-intensity, infill development,” along with numerous student housing, apartment and multifamily housing projects, he adds. Major subdivisions are being built in Reno’s growing suburbs, including Stonegate’s planned 5,000 homes and a planned 3,000 units in the Mortensen-Garson neighborhood. There is also a lot of demand for smaller-scale distribution warehousing in the city, Stockham says.
