During its 36-month construction period, the 1-million-sq-ft Gaylord Rockies Resort was the largest non-casino hotel being built in the U.S. Encore Electric installed more than 10,000 can lights and made more than 100,000 points with total station technology. Three 13.2-kva substations with 4,000 amps each serve the hotel’s electrical needs. Three equipment pump rooms provide service for water features, pools, a lazy river, the two-story slides and an infinity pool. The 75-ft-long LED television screen in the sports bar required an additional transformer and electrical panel just to power it.
