Baywater Properties is planning the up to $50-million Corbin District Mixed-Use Development in Darien. The project is expected to start in April and includes nine buildings, each four stories above grade. The project also includes more than 81,000 sq ft of retail space, more than 81,000 sq ft of office space and 116 apartments. Subcontractor bids for the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation Highway Division’s Boston Sumner Tunnel Upgrades 606660 are due on Feb. 25, while general contractor bids are due on March 10. The more than $27-million project includes replacing switchgears, installing generators, lighting and electrical systems for four vent buildings and replacing pumps at two pump stations. Apical Inc., a marijuana start-up, is planning to build a cultivation facility in Chicopee. The $15-million project is expected to start on Feb. 14 and includes 72,000 sq ft, big enough to grow 13,000 plants. A special zoning permit has been granted. Advancement is pending final permitting. New Jersey
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has granted approvals for Orsted Energy’s planned $1.6-billion offshore wind farm, with construction expected to start mid-year. The 1,100-MW project will be built 15 miles offshore of Atlantic City, with a cable to run from there to the former Oyster Creek nuclear plant in Lacey Township. The Hudson County Improvement Authority is planning a $250-million to $300-million courthouse facility, the Frank J. Guarini Justice Complex, in Jersey City. It will include Superior Court facilities, parking, county administrative offices and related amenities.
