Crews prepare to begin a mat placement on The Tradition-Woodway, a 24-story senior living community in Houston. The project broke ground in July 2018, and the placement took place at the end of that month.
Photographer Lyon had to climb onto a scaffolding structure to capture this shot, which he did using a Nikon D5 with a Nikkor 14-24 mm f 2.8 lens.
“The angle and vantage point gave us the ability to show off the project,” he says.
Sitting on a 2.5-acre site, the building will feature 222 independent-living and 92 assisted-living and memory-care units atop a podium garage. The amenities include a resort-style restaurant, card rooms and a movie theater.
Construction completion is expected in August.
