In April, Emily Guglielmo, principal at Martin/Martin Inc., Lakewood, Colo., became the 27th president of the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations. NCSEA represents 44 individual state associations and more than 14,000 structural engineers. Her term runs through March 2021.
Arcadis has named Alex Rothchild CEO of its North American business. He succeeds Joachim Ebert, who died unexpectedly following a battle with pancreatic cancer this spring. Rothchild, who has been with Arcadis since 1995, has served as president of the firm’s environment business in the U.S. for the past three years and as acting CEO of Arcadis North America since Jan. 1.
Chris Stolzer was recently promoted to senior vice president at Kiewit for mountain operations. Stolzer started his career as a craftsperson and joined Kiewit in 1996. Now he oversees all of the firm’s vertical building and redevelopment projects in the mountain region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and technology from the University of Nebraska.
Jonathan Guinn joins Flintco as senior project manager. He has a strong background in the health care, education and mixed-use office markets.
Preconstruction manager Doug Hanney joins Flintco to work in project planning and construction management, with expertise in health care and education facilities, office buildings and infrastructure projects.
Lauren Martinez, project engineer at Flintco, specializes in virtual design and construction and has extensive project experience in the health care and higher education markets. Superintendent Kirk Sausman brings to the firm more than 36 years of experience in health care, office, education and hospitality projects.
Taylor Kohrs recently hired Dan Letellier as a project manager. Letellier has 20 years of project management experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture as well as an associate’s degree in architectural engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Hyder Construction has hired Stephen Miller as the firm’s new director of special projects. Miller has been in the construction industry for more than 25 years. He replaces Mike Dillon, who has retired. Dillon previously led Hyder’s special projects division.
Cuningham Group has hired Ben Wilking as a senior project manager to help lead the firm’s K-12 studio. Wilking’s 20 years of experience include facility planning, capacity analysis and capital bond planning for Denver Public Schools.
Hensel Phelps has appointed Derek Hoffine as the new director of operations in the firm’s Plains district, based in Colorado. During his 18-year career with Hensel Phelps, Hoffine has delivered more than $1.7-billion worth of projects. In 2017, he was named one of the industry’s Top Young Professionals by ENR.
Hensel Phelps also has promoted David Rosser to general superintendent. Rosser has delivered more than $3-billion worth of projects during his 21-year career with the firm.
