While the northeastern Oklahoma region has not been immune to the challenges that COVID-19 has placed on the industry and the economy, “we are seeing an increase in opportunities in the health care, industrial and mission critical sectors that is encouraging,” Rooney says.
“The heavy-highway programs through the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority continue to be robust with two of the largest projects in Tulsa’s history currently underway,” he notes.
Those two projects are the $261-million Gilcrease West Expansion and the nearly $90-million widening of US 75’s bridges over I-44.
“We continue to see numerous opportunities in northeastern Oklahoma for capital projects, especially with regards to manufacturing, infrastructure, industrial, distribution and mission critical,” Rooney says.
The northeastern Oklahoma region “has a unique value proposition to offer potential companies, including the availability of lower-cost land and utility costs,” he says.
