Alston Construction has promoted Matt Clafton to senior vice president and regional manager at its Reno, Nev., office. Clafton began his career with Alston in 2002 and has provided leadership for the Nevada business units for more than 18 years. He also is tasked in a leadership role for the Alston Amazon team.
AZTEC Engineering Group Inc. has promoted Mike Myers to vice president at its office in Phoenix. As environmental services division leader, Myers will continue to lead the firm’s environmental practice.
Chad Huber has been promoted to AZTEC’s survey division leader, based in the Glendale, Ariz., office. Huber has been with AZTEC for more than 25 years.
McCarthy Building Cos. has hired three new people in its Phoenix office. Russ Sanders was hired as vice president of design integration. He has nearly 30 years of architecture, technology, management and construction industry experience and will be supporting McCarthy’s business development and preconstruction teams. Sanders will assist the Arizona, Nevada and Colorado offices in establishing strong teams of designers, engineers and builders.
Charlie Crews was hired as business development manager for the Arizona commercial sector. She joins McCarthy with nearly a decade of marketing and client relations experience. As business development manager, Crews will lead the creation of relationships with current and future clients, partners and other stakeholders. Her focus will be on the health care, mission critical, aviation and municipal market sectors. She will manage the team’s strategy for new opportunities and market growth.
Frances Inestroza was hired as business development manager for the education building group. She brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the McCarthy team, with nearly a decade in the construction industry. She has an extensive background in operations and market research. Inestroza will focus on further developing relationships with educational partners.
Kristen DiBone has been named director of interior architecture by WSM Architects Inc., Tucson. DiBone is a licensed architect who also holds a certificate from NCIDQ. She has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has been a part of WSM for 16 years.
Rosendin has made two promotions at its Tempe, Ariz., office. Brandon Stephens will serve as operations manager, overseeing Rosendin’s offices in Arizona, Texas and Nevada. During his nearly 17-year career with Rosendin, Stephens oversaw project teams across several Western states as well as remote national and international projects. After nearly seven years as division manager in the Tempe regional office, Stephens will hand local Arizona operations to Ben Mlinar, who was promoted to division manager of the Tempe regional office. Mlinar will be responsible for overseeing Southwest region operations, including a long-term project at a semiconductor manufacturing facility, a new Veterans Affairs health care facility and the Tempe Streetcar project.
Creation has hired Josh Zemon as its managing principal, based in Phoenix. Zemon will oversee all aspects of Creation’s real estate business alongside founding members David Sellers and Bob Agahi. That includes acquisitions, entitlement, development, construction, asset management and capital fundraising. Before joining Creation, Zemon spent 12 years at Walton Street Capital, most recently as a principal in the acquisitions group, where he led more than $1 billion in acquisitions in the retail and industrial sectors.
