President and CEO
Associated Builders and Contractors of Central Fla.
While noting that Central Florida’s economy “was certainly hammered” by the pandemic in 2020, Wylie says the situation has since “stabilized.” Most affected were construction plans at the theme parks, but many other projects remain on hold until travel picks up. Also, the area’s hospitality industry is recovering at different rates, he says, with time-share properties recovering faster than traditional hotels. “As they see airport passenger counts continue to grow, the parks and hotels will likely start building again,” he says.
