As a three-story market and restaurant with 13 venues for culinary shopping and gourmet dining, the $19.5-million Eataly Dallas location was designed with high-end finishes from around the world to create the feel of an Italian marketplace. The space includes items such as a Spanish bread oven, Italian millwork, wood-fired pizza ovens with custom gold mosaic tiles and terrazzo flooring.

But with the project breaking ground at the start of 2020 and 40% of materials coming from Europe, the project team had to work around COVID-19 travel restrictions that complicated sourcing and manufacturing.

The team worked diligently to have all items delivered before Italy shut down because of the global pandemic.

By researching essential equipment that qualified for special travel exemptions, the Structure Tone team was able to get European millworkers and manufacturers to the U.S. in time for their scheduled site visits in June and July 2020.
