Julie Timm

Julie Timm has been named the CEO of Sound Transit and will begin her duties next month. Timm previously served as chief development officer for WeGo Public Transit in Nashville, Tenn., and as transit development officer and Title VI and environmental justice compliance officer for Hampton Roads Transit in Norfolk, Va.

Chris Braun has been appointed CEO of iPourIt Inc., a Lake Forest, Calif.-based provider of self-pour tap wall systems.

Three new appointments to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) executive cabinet include Seleta Reynolds as chief innovation officer, Jennifer Vides as the agency’s first chief customer experience officer and Sharon Gookin as deputy CEO.

LPA Design Studios, Irvine, Calif., has named Frederick Braggs as chief financial officer. He has previously held leadership roles with Steinberg Hart, Gensler and HOK.

Tony Tavares

Tony Tavares was appointed director of the California Dept. of Transportation (CalTrans) by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Tavares has been District 7 director of CalTrans since 2020.

 

 

Erika McCalpine

Erika McCalpine has been named the assistant director for the Office of Social Equity at the Oregon Dept. of Transportation. She previously led diversity efforts at Oregon State University – Cascades. Carolyn Sullivan has joined the agency as the chief administrative officer.

W.E. O’Neil has announced three new hires at its Pleasanton, Calif., office: Marvin Wheat as vice president of Northern California, Rick Pomeroy as project director of the Northern California region and Jim Nelson as project executive for the Southern California region.

Justin Freeman has joined Coffman Engineers Inc. as the vice president of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen based in Anchorage. He will help the company prioritize decarbonization in his role by helping clients reach their carbon goals.

In JE Dunn’s Portland, Ore., office, Kyle Boehnlein, a 15-year veteran of the firm, was promoted to vice president and Stacey Flint was promoted to senior project manager.

Tim Spence

Tim Spence recently returned to Sundt Construction, joining its building group’s California district as the vice president and regional director in Northern California, based in Sacramento.

 

 

Greg Brink

Greg Brink has been tapped to be Parmetrix’s national director of strategic advisory services. He previously worked as an executive vice president at Value Management Strategies Inc. Justin Emery has joined Parametrix as a surveying supervisor based in Puyallup, Wash.

Lee Fleming

Lee Fleming was hired as Skanska’s vendor diversity manager based in the company’s Portland, Ore., office, serving the Pacific Northwest.

Ware Malcomb has made several recent hires and promotions. Adam Segalla has joined the firm as studio manager for architecture in the Seattle office. Cory Adams has been promoted to director, architecture, in the firm’s Irvine, Calif., office.

Shawmut Design and Construction has appointed Daniel Dumke as senior director of major projects to drive market share across sectors, including education and ground-up commercial, in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Steven Gray

Steven Gray has been named a national maritime senior project manager at WSP USA, based in Seattle. He will serve as the national maritime civil leader for one of the largest waterfront/marine design groups in the U.S.

 

 

Jennifer Price

Buro Happold has announced the appointment of Seattle-based Jennifer Price as U.S. managing director and partner. Price has held senior management or director-level positions with global building, engineering and consulting companies GHD, CH2M and AECOM.

Mark Dodero has joined Environmental Science Associates (ESA) as senior principal restoration ecologist based in San Diego. The firm has also named Dusty Ramsey director of IT.

Lori Cathcart

Terracon has promoted Lori Cathcart to director of corporate sustainability, to be based out of the firm’s Orange County office. Fred Buhamdan has been promoted to regional manager for the Los Angeles, Orange County, Colton and Las Vegas offices.

Levi J. Rippy has been promoted from senior project architect to technical principal for HOK’s San Francisco and Seattle studios. Based in San Francisco, he leads the technical direction and development of projects across HOK’s markets.

Katia McClain and Rob Barthelman have been named partners with Los Angeles-based architecture and design firm Steinberg Hart.

Sue Bhattacharjee

Sue Bhattacharjee has joined Herrero Builders as director of preconstruction, based in San Francisco.

Vincent Remer has joined Pacific Lumber Inspection Bureau (PLIB) as director of technical services based in the Federal Way, Wash., office. He previously worked at StructureCraft Builders in Abbotsford, British Columbia, leading product development and the code approval process for various products.

Brooke Higman

The Boldt Co. has named Brooke Higman as project executive for the Sacramento region and David Larson as director of estimating and preconstruction, leading the entire estimating team in Boldt’s Western operating group.

Ray Franz was promoted to area manager of Northern California for Keller. He started with Keller in 2003 and most recently worked as a preconstruction manager in Chicago.

Carl Mannheim

Carl Mannheim has joined Redmond, Wash.-based Kleinschmidt Associates as principal consultant for the hydraulics and hydrology division.

Mike Funderberg has joined KPRS Construction Services Inc. as division manager focusing on acute, mental and behavioral health care needs of communities throughout California and the greater Western U.S. He previously served as vice president with Bernards Bros. Inc.

Stephen Horseman has joined Carollo as an associate vice president in the new Vancouver office in British Columbia.

Jon Wright

Jon Wright has been named vice president of JLL’s life sciences project and development services. Wright will collaborate with the Rocky Mountain Region, Pacific Northwest, Northern California and Americas and Global leadership to drive growth and build partnerships.

Andrew (Drew) Roseberry has joined Erickson-Hall Construction Co. as a talent acquisition specialist.

SmithGroup has had several staff additions including Andrea Cabalo, who joined the Los Angeles office to manage higher education projects, Brett Leavitt, who will serve as design leader in the Los Angeles office’s higher education studio, and architectural designer Chris Anderson, who has relocated to the San Diego office.

Sundt Construction’s industrial group recently added Nicolas Cho, Arthur Yurov and Dorian Martinez as field engineers on its San Mateo Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion project.
