In February, Glen Landberg, who works in the communications department at Sound Transit, had the opportunity to visit the site where the Lynnwood Link Extension rail line crosses over Interstate 5. He used a Canon R5 with a 24-70mm lens for the assignment.
“The contractor was pulling down the falsework, so it was one of the last chances to get some of these angles,” he says.
While a section of the bridge was precast in Tacoma and delivered to the site, several sections had to be cast in place due to their curved shape. More than 2 million lb of falsework beams were used to support the bridge during construction.
“I think these images show the bridge’s scale and some perspective of the work that goes into constructing a crossing like this,” he says.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2024.
