National construction management and contracting company Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) has hired Tommy Meserole as director of preconstruction for Central Texas in AP’s Austin office. Meserole brings 30-plus years of preconstruction, project management and estimating experience to the company.
Leading architectural firm Shepley Bulfinch has hired Trent Williams as a principal and promoted Natalie Thurman to principal at its growing Houston studio. Williams comes to Shepley Bulfinch with an extensive background in Houston’s health care and higher education design and construction industry. Thurman, who has been with Shepley Bulfinch since 2019, will continue to bring design leadership both to the studio and across the firm.
International blast-resistant building firm Hunter has named Jose Barragan its new vice president of special projects. In his new role, which took effect Dec. 12, Barragan will provide support and conduct long-range planning for the organization’s estimating and design efforts and implement solutions and procedures for various divisions within Hunter. Barragan has more than 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with his last 16 years spent at Hunter.
New Orleans-based Boh Bros. Construction Co. has appointed four new vice presidents: Glenn J. Schexnayder, manager of the heavy construction department and a 23-year Boh employee; Harold W. Baur III, manager of the piling and marine department and a 23-year Boh employee; James N. Hickok III, chief engineer; and Kenneth R. Solis, equipment manager and an 18-year Boh employee.
Lars Zetterstrom has been sworn in as president of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Houston/Galveston Post. A professional engineering organization, SAME promotes the advancement of technical knowledge and fosters collaboration between government and industry on infrastructure solutions. A SAME member for more than 20 years, Zetterstrom is vice president and manager of federal programs at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. The Houston/Galveston Post has more than 600 members.
Gensler has named Vince Flickinger principal of the firm’s Houston office. Flickinger brings more than 20 years of experience in a broad range of project types and roles. His knowledge in corporate workplace design has helped deliver successful projects for clients like BP, Deloitte, Norton Rose Fulbright, Chevron and Johnson & Johnson. Gensler also named Todd MacPherson principal of the firm’s Houston office. MacPherson is a senior designer and the South Central region’s aviation and transportation practice leader. The firm also named Ken Wiesehuegel a principal in Houston. Wiesehuegel serves as Gensler’s professional services practice area leader for the South Central region.
Raul Benitez, a regional manager with TLC Engineering Solutions, will lead the firm’s recently opened Houston office. TLC is focused on growing its health care portfolio, strengthening its presence with Texas’ higher education systems and supporting airports across the state. Benitez has nearly 20 years of experience in Texas.
