While on site at the Supermodule Furnace Project in Baytown, Texas, photographer Dave Shafer approached these two workers discussing a lift plan. As he neared, Shafer noticed a strategic photo opportunity—capturing both the craftworker and crane operator, who was visible in the crane’s side-view mirror.
Using a Nikon D850 with a Nikon 200mm lens at f-stop 3.2 and a shutter speed of 1/1000th at ISO 200, Shafer captured the moment. “This lens allowed me to compress the environment and capture an everyday scene in a different way,” he says.
