Matt Rossie, president of San Francisco-based contractor Webcor, has assumed the added role of CEO, succeeding Jes Pedersen, who remains an adviser and will retire later this year, the firm said. A 22-year Webcor veteran, Rossie became president and chief operating officer in January 2022. The firm, which has not named a successor COO, ranks at No. 95 on ENR’s latest Top 400 Contractors list.
Susan Dwyer and Carolina Weidler have been elevated to co-CEOs of H. Hendy Associates, a Newport Beach, Calif., interiors design firm. They succeed Heidi Hendy, who founded the firm in 1980 and was owner and managing principal. The company is employee-owned under an employee stock ownership plan structure. Dwyer, who has led Hendy’s corporate studio for 18 years, heads finance and business operations. Weidler, who created and has led the science and technology studio for seven years, runs marketing and practice operations.
Melanie Dodson has joined McCarthy Building Cos. in its San Jose, Calif.-based region as senior preconstruction director on its specialized solutions and interiors team. She was preconstruction executive at BNBuilders and also preconstruction manager at NOVO Construction.
Seattle-based engineer Magnusson Klemencic Associates has elevated to BIM director Kevin Carroll, a licensed architect and past adjunct professor at Pierce College, where he taught Revit and 3D modeling. Named as new senior associates are structural engineers Jennifer Diggs, Jeremy Hasselbauer, Amy Kuo, Alex Lang and Brad Strandquist and as associates structural engineers Kevin Kuntz, Patrick Burns and Mandy Chen. Kuntz is based in Chicago.
OHLA USA has elevated Alex Medyn to executive vice president of its West region, based in Irvine, Calif. He was vice president and director of the $1.4-billion I-405 improvement project for the Orange County Transportation Authority. Medyn had been a Skanska USA Civil West project executive.
Sundt Construction has promoted Sean Falvey to vice president and Sacramento regional director for its California district building group. He will oversee the contractor’s Northern California projects.
XL Industries, a Milpitas, Calif., builder that includes XL Construction, has elevated Marcus Staniford to president. He was chief operating officer of the construction unit. Succeeding him in the role is John Boneso, who was executive vice president. Also promoted is Kevin Ng, who now is the firm’s vice president of science and technology and health care operations. Project executive Tate Chandler now is director of science and technology.
Stantec has named to its board of directors Cerlina Wang Doka, a former audit partner of KPMG LLP who led the global firm’s building, construction and real estate practice in Orange County, Calif. She also is former advisory board chair of the real estate management program at the University of California-Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. The firm also named Peter Bokor as senior vice president for growth and innovation based in Irvine, Calif. He was a vice president at Carollo Engineers, specializing in industrial market segments.
AECOM has elevated Danette Riddle and Veronica Siranosian to new roles in its U.S. West region, naming them as LA metro executive and Bay Area metro executive, respectively. Riddle had been the region’s buildings + places growth lead and Siranosian was digital director. Siranosian also becomes director of growth for AECOM’s West Coast transportation business.
Charissa Rotramel has joined engineering and environmental firm Parametrix as strategic growth and development director based in Portland, Ore. She was a WSP vice president and Northwest Pacific district marketing director for work in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Hawaii, Guam and Alaska. Elisa Young joins the firm as director of diversity, equity and inclusion. She is former director of equity and policy for the city of Seattle. Parametrix also elevated Cindy Clark to lead its Greater Washington transportation division, which includes about 130 professionals based in four cities.
Tuyet Le has joined Gilbane Building Co. as vice president of business development and strategy for its Los Angeles-based U.S. West region, which includes California, Arizona and Nevada. A board member of the Center for Innovation in the Design and Construction Industry, she had been vice president of business development at McCarthy Building Cos.
Design firm Ware Malcomb has elevated Bhavini Hardev to studio manager for interior architecture and design in San Francisco. She was creative design director at PDG Studios.
Mat Gates has been promoted to president of Erickson-Hall Construction Co., Escondido, Calif. Previously vice president, he now will lead a transition to employee ownership, the firm said. The firm specializes in K-12 and higher education projects in Southern California.
Design firm SmithGroup has hired Daniel Cusick as a principal and health studio leader in Los Angeles for projects in Southern California. He was formerly health principal at HDR and leader of its Northeast health care studio.
Engineering consultant Kleinschmidt Associates has named Ben Cary as hydraulics and hydrology section manager based in Vancouver, Wash.
Kathy Romaine has been promoted to strategy director for private sector business at consultant Kennedy Jenks. Mark Cullington has a new role as operations director in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. Doug Sawyers, vice president, is now firm operations director for facilities engineering, management consulting and remediation and compliance. Principal Michael Humm is named operations manager for Oregon, and Stephan Meurer is manager of remediation and compliance operations.
Skanska USA named Dean Lewis director of mass timber and prefabrication, based in Seattle. He manages the firm’s U.S. work in that business line. Lewis was associate director of project delivery at Sidewalk Labs, working on mass timber construction technologies. Skanska USA also hired Laura Hawley as vice president of business development in San Francisco. She was a business development manager at DPR Construction, focused on health care work in Northern California.
Kristine Agers has been elevated to Seattle/Bellevue office leader at design firm HNTB. A transportation specialist, she has held several management roles since joining in 2018. Agers also is a board member of state chapters of the American Council of Engineering Cos. and the Council of Minority Transportation Officials.
W.E. O’Neil Construction has promoted John Finn to a newly created corporate chief operating officer role in Los Angeles. A 22-year veteran of the Chicago-based contractor, he retains his position as president of California operations.
Design firm HKS has hired Krisianna Bock as a principal in Los Angeles, specializing in the health care sector. She had been senior manager of delivery system strategy at Kaiser Permanente.
The Associated General Contractors of California has hired Darryl Kysar as vice president of strategic initiatives and partnerships, focused on workforce development. A former board member of national AGC’s nonprofit Construction Education Foundation, he also was a senior business development director at Procore Technologies Inc.
Tangram, a Newport Beach, Caif., interiors design firm, has promoted Kellie Reed to vice president, sales and health care for Orange County. She helped establish the firm’s Central Valley presence, the company says.
