Michelle White has been appointed CEO of Harris & Associates, Concord, Calif. She previously served as Harris’ COO and consulting division president since 2021. White began her tenure at Harris in 2018 as chief people officer, heading the firm’s human resources, learning and development, information technology and administrative functions.
McCarthy Building Cos. has created a new leadership structure to support the evolution of its Southern Pacific region, which includes San Diego, Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Las Vegas. As a result of that shift, the firm announced four promotions. Mike Myers has been elevated to Southern Pacific CEO. Previously its president, he now is lead regional executive and has more than 20 years of experience. Jim Madrid was promoted to president, Southern Pacific. Most recently executive vice president of the Newport Beach office and regional hub, he oversees McCarthy regional operations across Southern California and Nevada. Paul Erb was elevated to COO, Southern Pacific. Transitioning from executive vice president and Los Angeles office lead into a broader role, he oversees McCarthy’s design phase and construction operations in Southern California and Nevada. Suzy Cruden was promoted to senior vice president of strategy. She was vice president of marketing. Cruden brings two decades of industry experience to her new role.
Shimmick Corp., Irvine, Calif., has appointed Amanda Mobley as interim chief financial officer. She replaces Devin Nordhagen, who is stepping down as CFO to pursue other business interests, says the firm. Mobley has been with Shimmick and its predecessors since 2011 in a variety of financial management roles.
Patty Rubstello has joined WSP, Seattle, as national transportation strategic adviser. She previously served more than 33 years at the Washington State Dept. of Transportation in a variety of roles, most recently as assistant secretary of Washington State Ferries.
XL Construction, Milpitas, Calif., has announced several promotions. Tom Humbert has been named chief administrative officer in addition to his current role as CFO. He has been with XL for eight years. Matt Byrtus has been promoted to vice president of the business technology department. During his seven years at XL, Brytus has led an overhaul of its IT organization. Sean Holliday has been named vice president of integrated solutions to oversee the preconstruction, estimating, construction technology, MEP design, sustainability and design management specialists. He joined XL in 2023.
Paul Bergman has been promoted to Northern California business group director for Environmental Science Associates’ fish and aquatics sciences practice, based in Sacramento. He was previously program manager.
Page & Turnbull, Los Angeles, has promoted James Mallery to director of its architecture and design studio. He has been with the firm for five years in numerous roles, most recently as Los Angeles office director.
Gilbane Building Co., San Jose, Calif., has hired Ryan Heeter as senior vice president and West division leader. He joins Gilbane from Truebeck Construction, where he served as a vice president, with more than 25 years of experience spanning all major markets and delivery methods.
MNS Engineers, Santa Barbara, Calif., has launched a new bridge and structural engineering practice. To lead it, the firm has hired Kyle Turner as vice president and bridge and structures principal. He was previously bridge department manager at Michael Baker International. Chad Harden has also joined MNS as bridge technical director in the new practice. He previously served as a senior associate at Michael Baker International.
Rick Engineering, San Diego, has appointed Kristina Hysler as director of watershed science and planning. She was water quality practice leader at Dudek.
Addy Duffany has been promoted to business development director at Skanska USA in Seattle. She has been with the company for seven years and with this promotion joins the Seattle leadership team.
Ware Malcomb has announced several staffing changes at its San Diego office. Angela Ryan has been promoted to principal, Robert Park has rejoined the firm as director for architecture and Karla Middleton has been promoted to studio manager for architecture.
Swinerton has several West Coast staffing updates. Eric Faust has been elevated to operations manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm’s Spokane, Wash., and Boise locations, and John Stinson has been promoted to senior superintendent in Spokane. J. Marcella Ayala has been hired as national director of life sciences, based in the Los Angeles office. Lisa Podesto has joined the firm to lead mass timber preconstruction in Swinerton’s Northern California region as regional director of preconstruction for mass timber and sustainability, based in San Francisco.
HNTB has announced multiple West Coast staffing updates. Henry Dumaran has joined the firm as aviation program management/construction management division lead and vice president, based in San Diego. He recently led the Boarding Area B Terminal 1 Renovation and Expansion Project at San Francisco International Airport and directed the Delta LAX Redevelopment Program at Los Angeles International Airport. Debbie Driver has been hired as government relations director in HNTB’s Northwest division, based in Seattle. In Los Angeles, John Hong has been hired as a construction project director, Peter Costa has been promoted to transportation planning director and Grace Tell has been named project director.
Paul Schuler has rejoined Carollo Engineers, Portland, Ore., as a senior vice president and strategic adviser. He began his more than 30-year career as a firm project engineer.
MG2 has hired Meghana Joshi to lead its Irvine, Calif., office and expand the firm’s reach in the California market as managing principal. She was previously senior project manager at Little Diversified Architectural Consulting.
PCL Construction’s Seattle office announced staff changes. Christina Kanhai was recently promoted to chief estimator. She began as a PCL estimator in Orlando 11 years ago and swiftly climbed the ranks. Holly Bill has been hired as human resources and professional development manager, with more than nine years of expertise in employee relations and human resources. Lauren Mamola has been promoted to marketing manager. She joined PCL in 2023 as a senior proposal specialist.
Ann Morrow Johnson has been hired as design director and global entertainment leader in Gensler’s entertainment and experience design practice in Los Angeles. She was global head of creative development for Walt Disney Imagineering.
Parametrix has made several promotions and new hires in its West Coast offices. In Northern California, David Parisi has been promoted to Southwest region complete streets and active transportation leader. He joined the firm as a principal consultant in 2023 after its acquisition of Parisi Transportation Consulting, of which he was owner. In Portland, Ore., Nimish Dharmadhikari has been hired as a senior engineer. She was an associate researcher and modeler at the San Diego Association of Governments . In Seattle, Charlie Tidwell has joined the firm as a senior engineer and transportation project manager. He comes to Parametrix from HDR, where he served as a transportation project manager. Also in Seattle, Leslie Sowles has been promoted to director of human resources. She joined Parametrix from Consor Engineers, where she served as director of employee relations.
Janisse Quiñones was named CEO and Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power. She was senior vice president of electric operations at Pacific Gas and Electric, and also served as its senior vice president of gas engineering. In leading the agency, Quiñones succeeds General Manager and Chief Engineer Martin L. Adams, who retired after a 40-year career there.
