Big-D Construction has promoted Carl McFarland to president of the firm’s Southwest office based in Tempe, Ariz. He had been senior vice president and managing director. McFarland joined the Utah-based company in 2022 from a previous role as market sector executive at Kitchell.

Sundt Construction has hired Todd Patterson as quality manager of its industrial group, based in Tempe, Ariz. He had been manager of quality systems for Graycor Southern Inc. and district quality manager

for TIC - The Industrial Co. The firm also hired James Busch to its craft workforce development team as its first craft pipeline manager, created to maintain its National Center for Construction Education and Research programs. He was director of workforce development and skilled trades and a professor of diesel technology at Central Arizona College. Ashley Peters has also joined Sundt as business development representative for its building group in Scottsdale. She was subcontractor coordinator for Perlo Construction.

Contractor Haydon has elevated Skyler Roussel to business management director in Phoenix from project director.

Stephanie Handley has joined Lamar Johnson Collaborative in Phoenix as principal for economic development. She is a development and commercial real estate specialist.
