Kitty Hawk Offshore Wind - VA Field Office and Avangrid Renewables are in the predesign phase of a more than $7.6-billion, 2.1-GW offshore wind farm 27 miles off the coast of Corrolla, N.C., and 36 miles from Sandbridge, Va. Expected to start construction in 2030, the Kitty Hawk project plans to conduct surveying through 2027 and gain necessary approvals through 2028 before a two-year construction period begins in 2030. The wind farm is planned for 12,405 acres off the Outer Banks, with up to 121 wind turbine generators, onshore substation and export cables, inter-array cables and subsea export cables. Florida

The Florida Dept. of Transportation is developing designs for Osceola Parkway in Osceola County near Orlando. The $1.5-billion design-bid-build project aims to reconstruct Interstate 4 to accommodate three general use lanes, auxiliary lanes and two express lanes in the eastbound and westbound directions, from County Road 532 to east of County Road 522. Reconstructing interchanges are also part of the project, which is targeting a Nov. 1 bid date and a May 1, 2025, start to construction. Florida

Plans are nearing completion on the new Airside D expansion at Tampa International Airport, a $787.4-million effort to construct a 16-gate, three-level domestic and international airside terminal. The project also includes new ramp and hydrant fuel system, TSA-required security screening checkpoint, checked baggage inspection screening facilities, federal inspection facilities as well as a baggage handling system with connections to the airport’s main terminal. Nov. 1, 2024, is listed as the target start date and July 1, 2028, as target completion date, with the airport in the process of prequalifying general contractors. Alabama

Manna Beverages & Ventures has begun construction on its $600-million project to construct a warehouse and manufacturing facility in Hope Hull. The design-build project started grading in March and vertical construction began in August on the 1.7-million-sq-ft beverage production and distribution facilities on 180 acres at a new industrial park off Interstate 65 in Montgomery County. The facility will include a research and development center and bottling line and house several major production operations, including bottling plant, can manufacturing plant and plastics molding operation. Two precast concrete buildings are planned at the site, and the project includes special conditions for inclusion of minority business enterprises and green building elements.
