Dallas-based MYCON General Contractors Inc. promoted two long-standing company leaders to senior vice president. Since joining the contractor in 2016, Chip Myers has played a vital role in the company’s expansion, particularly in Nashville and the Eastern U.S.

Also named senior vice president was Ryan Stoll. Since joining the firm in 2006, Stoll has made significant contributions to the firm, particularly in the industrial market sector, and he has been involved in the development and stewardship of the MYCON Educational Foundation.

Additionally, MYCON has promoted Central Texas leader Hayden Tuley to the position of vice president of the company’s special projects division. In this role, Tuley will focus on such projects as grocery and retail, distribution centers and automation renovations. He is based in College Station, Texas.
Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN) has announced that Travis Owens has been installed as the inaugural president of the newly chartered San Antonio Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
“This section will play a critical role in supporting the growth of the highway industry in our region,” said Owens, an engineer at LAN. “I look forward to working alongside fellow professionals to promote innovation and excellence in transportation.”

Mbroh Engineering Inc., Dallas, recently announced the appointment of James “Brooks” Schultze as its new chief operating officer. Schultze, with his extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning and operations management in infrastructure development for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Corps of Engineers water management business lines, joins Mbroh after a 30-year career as an engineer officer in the Army. In this position with Mbroh, Schultze will oversee daily operations, implement strategic initiatives and work to enhance the firm’s operational efficiency.

Zak Covar has joined the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association (TACA) as its president and chief executive officer. Covar comes to TACA with more than 15 years of experience in both the legislative and executive branches of government, having served as an appointed commissioner to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) under two governors, Rick Perry and Greg Abbott.
“TACA is enormously excited to welcome Zak Covar as our new president and CEO,” said TACA Chairman Juan Castillo. “The level of experience and understanding he brings to this role is of great benefit not only to our members but also to the residents and businesses of Texas as we address the challenges that come with an enormous growth in infrastructure.”
Before being appointed as TCEQ commissioner, Covar served as its executive director. He earned his environmental and budgetary credentials while working as the lead environmental and natural resources policy and budget adviser to Gov. Perry from 2005 through 2007.
