Derek Breier has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Saunders Construction Co. after serving as the Englewood, Colo.-based company’s construction manager and, most recently, area manager in northern Colorado. Saunders also has promoted Brad Marsh to chief administration officer. He joined the firm in 2014 as vice president of human resources. Teena Bergstrand has been promoted to vice president of market strategies and communications. She also champions the firm’s initiatives in diversity, equity and inclusion and in corporate social responsibility.

Denver-based Howell Construction has promoted David Gazarik and Jeff Engemoen to project manager roles; Dalton Klepper and Brett Liekhus to project manager/assistant project manager roles; and Gabrielle Meek to senior marketing coordinator.

Toby Burley will lead Encore Electric’s West Jordan, Utah-based business unit. The employee-owned electrical contractor based in Lakewood, Colo., opened the office in 2023. Burley’s career spans 32 years in electrical construction with work on educational, commercial and solar facilities. During his time at Encore Electric, he has managed more than 70 successful projects, according to the company.

FYLD, a U.K-based infrastructure technology firm with its U.S. headquarters in Denver, has named Cameron Barrett vice president of energy in North America and Aaron Robinson director of strategic partnerships. Barrett, who has 25 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy industries, will lead energy sector development in North America. Robinson, a former Amazon Web Services executive, will upscale sales teams, develop strategic partnerships and expand customer advocacy, according to the company. FYLD says its AI-powered digital platform enables utility and construction field managers “to make proactive, data-led decisions in real time.”

Mike Fratianni has been named regional operating officer of Big-D Cos., a Salt Lake City-based contractor. His previous roles include serving as president and CEO of Hunt Construction Group, chief operating officer of AECOM Hunt and managing director of construction at Lendlease. Big-D reports $2.6 billion of annual revenue and has more than 1,700 associates. Its regional offices are in Ogden, Lindon, St. George and Park City, Utah; Pleasanton and Irvine, Calif.; Tempe, Ariz.; Las Vegas and Reno, Nev.; Golden, Colo.; St. Paul, Minn.; Bozeman, Mont.; Boise, Sun Valley and Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Jackson, Wyo.

Swinerton has promoted Josh Leen to director of operations for its Colorado division, based in Denver. He had been operations manager.

Burns & McDonnell has promoted Jason Mayyak and Janson Ferrera to new leadership roles in its Denver-based Mountain States region. Mayyak now is operations director for the Kansas City, Mo.-based engineer-contractor, supporting offices in Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. He was recently promoted to vice president of Burns & McDonnell and previously served as a regional manager of its transmission and distribution group, responsible for business development, project management and other areas. Ferrera, a company principal, has been elevated to regional manager for the transmission and distribution group. He oversees risk, scope and financial management for its portfolio of gas pipeline, electric transmission, substation and distribution projects.
