This year’s call for nominations yielded an impressive collection of entries from around the region. An independent jury pored over the entries, judging candidates on the basis of their career experience; industry leadership; community service; and other factors.

Although she has worked in human resources in other industries, Ho says she finds working with design professionals to be an enjoyable challenge.

She is a licensed professional engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Pearson has more than 20 years of experience managing, planning, designing and constructing core infrastructure projects, including water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment systems, and stormwater systems. At Dewberry, he is associate vice president in the mid-Atlantic engineering division and water service line leader, which involves managing the strategic growth objectives of Dewberry's water, wastewater and water-reuse program.

Poirier joined Balfour Beatty Construction in 2003 as vice president of human resources. She is responsible for managing HR functions in the Southeast region and for developing common HR practices among Balfour Beatty Construction divisions. Poirier has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of organization development and human resources management, having developed competencies in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, organization structure, human resources management, leadership development, culture shifts, change management, organization and team effectiveness. She has a Ph.D. in leadership and education with a specialization in human resources development from Barry University and holds a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Terry has been in the construction industry for 19 years, serving as a project executive for the last nine years. He joined Grunley Construction in early 2011. Terry currently oversees the Arts and Industries Building shell restoration and National Museum of American History public space renewal projects for the Smithsonian Institution and manages the new construction of two luxury high-rise apartment buildings for Keener-Squire Properties and Level 2 Development.
