The multipurpose Levi's Stadium, which will be used primarily for football's San Francisco 49ers and soccer's San Jose Earthquakes, will be completed within the $1.27-billion budget and delivered on time by the Turner-Devcon Joint Venture, says Jack Hill, the 49ers project executive.

The first game, between the Earthquakes and the Seattle Sounders, will be on Aug. 2. As construction winds down, planning is revving up for an estimated $6.5-billion development on 215 acres across the street. The city approved this month the plan for the 5.2-million-sq-ft City Place Santa Clara.
